Lisa Hughes, a dynamic and unconventional force in the world of creativity, has crafted a life as diverse and vibrant as her artistic endeavours. Departing from the traditional educational path, she left school at 15, embarked on a journey of self-discovery, and found herself crewing on a dive boat in Far North QLD. Her adventures led her to Italy, where she assumed the role of an English teacher, and later to Scotland, where she briefly donned the hat of a private investigator.
Lisa’s multifaceted career reflects her insatiable thirst for exploration. In 2007 , she designed and marketed the international award-winning vibrator, The Be Be. In an era where the adult industry was predominantly driven by male perspectives, Lisa felt perplexed by the lack of female influence in the design and marketing of such personal and intimate products for women. Recognizing the need for a change, she and her co-creator set out to design a product from a woman’s point of view.
Her visionary outlook not only revolutionized the market but also sparked a significant shift in attitudes towards women and vibrators worldwide. Lisa’s contributions played a pivotal role in reshaping the narrative around female eroticism, paving the way for a more empowered and liberated generation of women.
As a trained therapist, Lisa continues to inspire women to explore their eroticism with confidence and authenticity. Her legacy is not just in the product she has brought to the market, but in the cultural shift she has ignited—one that celebrates and normalizes the diverse and beautiful expressions of female sensuality. Lisa seamlessly blended education and entertainment, earning recognition as an “edutainer” in women’s sexual and mental wellbeing, connecting intimately with audiences and dismantling societal taboos.
In 2019 she studied a Bachelor of Performance at the University of Wollongong and is a strong advocate for creative communities that champion diversity and inclusion.
Her journey continues to evolve as she explores the timeless force of creativity to forge a path to joy and spiritual connectivity. With a heart attuned to the science of joy, she pioneers a future where the fusion of play and expression leads humanity towards spiritual elevation and interconnected bliss.
Lisa has collaborated with various local talents, including the Merrigong Theatre Company, We Are Here Gong Dance Company and is a performer with Circle of Weird.
Married years with two adult daughters, Lisa continues to inspire through her resilience, creativity, and commitment to celebrating the richness of the human experience.
